We have added 3 new color-themed Dacha tactics since our last newsletter! Have you been keeping up with your sparring practice?

If you haven't been keeping up, here's an interesting tactic that we call "Carlsen gets lost in the dark"

IM Yaacov's Hint: This was a cool game I came across with Carlsen as the white pieces and the very strong GM Peter Svidler as the black. Carlsen is +1000 light , Svidler+1000 dark. Carlsen's last move was Qf5 (light!), but it leaves an opening to a crushing dark rejoinder. In time pressure, Svidler missed this – let's try to find!

Not a Dacha Harmony or Dacha Tactics Club member? Well, this week's free tactic is an oldie, but goodie. Try to solve the "Dark parachute" Dacha!

IM Yaacov's hint: An interesting position from a game of mine. The position seems quiet, and frankly, it'll be painfully quiet once black gets to castle. Any way to prevent it? Well, let's first assess colors, as always. We have a knight vs. light bishop, which means we're behind light, ahead on dark ( 500). But this seems abstract, no? How to use this to its full potential and seize the dark moment? Is there anything in the way of our dark? If we look closely, the e7 dark brick is helping black stay afloat ( preventing nd6, bd6, etc.). Can we uproot this dark resistance? This is a tricky but satisfying one! Check to see if your solution is correct!

🔥Keep your Dacha color theory eyes sharp with this Dacha tactic! Unlocking the gates. IM Yaacov's Hint: A cool position I saw in a game, with the tricky GM Daniel Naroditsky manning the black pieces. We are down a rook, but lots of pressure on the white king.

🔥Keep your Dacha color theory eyes sharp with this Dacha tactic! Cashing in all that dark money. IM Yaacov's Hint: A short but sweet tactic I recently had. As always, we begin with color money. The imbalance is our dark bishop vs his light, which gives us +1000
